| Seth with happy customer after lamp repair - polishing and lacquering one of his old Moroccan brass lamp. It was a real treat to hear the interesting story of how Robert and his wife Sustie acquired these lamps on their trip to Morocco years ago. |

| Tiffany tubing fixture repair |
|
| BEFORE: Tiffany tubing chandelier fixture It may not look formidable now but this was our most challenging repair project in our 29 year history. The channels inside each of these 3 slender tubes were completely blocked. We soaked this fixture for months and lubricated the channels for months. We used compressed air, compressed water, pressure washer, oil... We used 3 canisters of butane to try and burn the stuck wiring out of the arms. We tried drilling, reeming and everything that we had learned in 29 years of repairs. Not one thing worked over a period of many months, not even slightly. With the owner's understanding that the next procedure could possibly destroy the fixture, I soaked the channels with fuel. I built a bon fire at my farm and carefully placed the fixture in the fire. After burning for 30minutes the smoke coming from the channel ends indicated that the wiring was finally burning to ash and I was able to get the old wiring out. It did burn one of the tubes completely into at two places. |
